Trevell Coleman

Trevell Coleman turned himself in to police in 2010 for a 1993 cold case — a homicide during a robbery gone awry when he was a teenager. He was sentenced to serve 15-years-to-life in prison. While incarcerated, Mr. Coleman earned his Associates degree and facilitated multiple programs in service to other incarcerated men. In 2022, both his sentencing judge and the District Attorney joined our call for Mr. Coleman to receive clemency. In December 2023, Governor Hochul granted Mr. Coleman clemency so that he could go before the parole board early. The Board granted Mr. Coleman parole, and he returned to his wife and family in April 2024.
