Richard Lee Chalk

I received a sentence of 71-and-2/3-years-to-life and on August 8, 2021, I received clemency after having been incarcerated for 33 years. Since returning home, I have been working with several organizations, including Release Aging People in Prison (RAPP); Housing Works, and Exodus. In addition, I have been contributing to my community through mentoring and working to improve the lives of others. What gives me the most joy is the smiles on the faces of the individuals around me. Between this and helping my disabled sister around her house and holding down two jobs (one as residential aide and the other at Kennedy Airport as a pedestrian traffic monitor), when any time is available I still assist people who are incarcerated with various legal motions.
