Roy Bolus

I travel throughout the country speaking to gangs, criminal justice reform proponents, and incarcerated people about how prison reform and following the law are pivotal.

I was incarcerated for the first time in my life for a duration of 31 years of an 80 years to life sentence for terrible, misguided, and tragic childhood mistakes. I was granted clemency in 2018.

I am a self-published author of "A Non-Traditional Solution: Rehabilitating the Incarcerated." Today, I'm a vegan, I have taught at Yale University, and I am an advocate for education. I have obtained two masters degrees and a doctorate degree and am a credentialed substance abuse counselor. I travel throughout the country speaking to gangs, criminal justice reform proponents, and incarcerated people about how prison reform and following the law are pivotal. During incarceration, I created a college program, putting inmates through college successfully and developed self-help programs for incarcerated people. I spend my leisure time exercising and dedicating my life to prison reform. My second book: "Hello Yale! From Inside the Walls, to Walking the Halls" is due to be published this year.
