Stanley Bellamy

If given the opportunity, I would like to volunteer my free time to go back into correctional facilities and talk with currently incarcerated people about clemency and becoming assets to the community instead of liabilities.
— Stanley

I was originally sentenced to 62 1⁄2 years to life in February of 1987. On December 21, 2022, I was granted clemency in the form of a sentence commutation. On February 2, 2023, I was granted parole and released on April 24, 2023, after serving 37 1⁄2 years. Since my release, I have been working for the Releasing Aging People ni Prison Campaign (RAPP) as a Community Leader, volunteering with H.O.L.L.A. (How Our Lives Link Altogether) youth organization, re-establishing family ties with my children, grandchildren, mother, siblings, and nieces and nephews--many of whom were born during my incarceration. I am also currently attempting to re-enroll in college to obtain my Masters Degree in Social Work through the John Jay College Initiative. I am also a member of the Clemency Collective and The People's Campaign for Parole Justice. If given the opportunity, I would like to volunteer my free time to go back into correctional facilities and talk with currently incarcerated people about clemency and becoming assets to the community instead of liabilities.
