Clemency for
DANIEL BROWN
3 Reasons why Daniel is an excellent clemency candidate:
-
Crucial context of his crime
A person’s conviction is not always the full story of what happened. In Daniel’s case, he discharged a weapon he had been carrying for self-defense when he unexpectedly encountered a former peer who had previously shot him. Daniel makes no excuse for his actions. Nonetheless, justice demands consideration of this crucial context.
-
Dedication to service
Daniel was mentored by renowned activist Greg Mingo when the two were incarcerated together. Today, Daniel has taken on many of the roles Mingo held when he was still incarcerated: Daniel facilitates transitional services programming and leads Anger Replacement Training while completing his college degree.
-
Support on the outside
Daniel has three generations of family members ready to welcome him home and support him upon release. His sister Rhonda has a guest bedroom ready for him in the Bronx, where her two sons are excited to spend time with the uncle they have stayed in touch with over these many years.
Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
